Because your baby doesn't need fixing.

They need understanding.

Hi, I'm Kata.

In January 2025, I became a mother to my beautiful daughter, Hazel, and motherhood transformed me in ways I never expected.

I have been where you are. I found myself surrounded by advice that felt contradictory and overwhelming. I was told my baby needed to learn independence, that responding too much might create bad habits, and that sleep was something to teach.

None of it felt quite right.

Curiosity led me to explore infant brain development, and the more I learned, the more everything began to make sense—not just my daughter's behaviour, but my own instincts too.

My personal search for understanding soon grew into a passion for the science of nurture. I trained as a Nurture Neuroscience Practitioner, and my learning continues through ongoing study. I am currently training as an Integrative Infant Sleep Practitioner, further deepening my understanding of infant sleep.

For me, this learning is about more than qualifications. It’s about continuing to build the knowledge and understanding that allows me to better support families.

I founded Nurturehood NZ to translate the science behind nurture into practical, compassionate support, helping parents understand what's happening in their baby's brain so they can make informed decisions that feel right for their own family.

I'd love to walk alongside you—to help you understand your baby a little more deeply and, just as importantly, to help you reconnect with your own intuition.

Welcome to Nurturehood.

I hope this becomes a place where you can exhale, where you feel informed, supported, and reminded that you already know your baby better than anyone else.
